Around 58 per cent of Americans have rethought their clothing expenditures because to the growing cost of living, according to a recent Luke Zion Jewellery poll of 885 people. According to survey participants, the average annual expenditure for clothing and footwear is US $ 1,445; jewellery is projected to cost an additional US $ 457.

Nearly 18 per cent of American consumers, according to the report, intend to adopt “No Buy” initiatives in order to reduce their spending on clothing in 2025. These programs usually entail a one-month or longer period of time during which non-essential expenditures are not made.

Roughly 38 per cent of all Americans stated that they only buy new clothing, and 87 per cent of them estimate that they buy new fashion items. Nearly half (46 per cent) of those surveyed only purchase clothing during sales in order to save money, while more than half (56 per cent) fix their wardrobe as needed.

More than three out of five people (61 per cent) claim that they are unable to afford the wardrobe they desire due to the current cost of living. 57 per cent are adopting “underconsumption,” which is the practice of reducing new purchases in exchange for repairing or reusing existing items, and nearly one in three (32 per cent) have been compelled to buy more used clothing.
