The Doneger Group predicts that the Spring/Summer ’22 fashion season will be centered on the theme of “simple living.” Doneger’s creative director, Kai Chow, gave a special glimpse at the patterns for Fall/Winter 22/23 at Texworld’s 3-day trend event last week. Fashion United describes its presentation, separated into four relevant themes, in order to deal with today’s difficulties and convey the emotional experiences of current consumers, global developments in textiles, color and silhouettes.

Quiescent:

Felt and Melton, heather knits, flannel stretch, and bouclé tweeds are all indoor and outdoor. Worsted wool suiting with exaggerated necks appears in overly large layers. Lacy knits with Mohair or Cachemira in hues of ice mauve, and blue gray with a touch of sumptuous fabrics. Minimal shades are abundant with pigment dyes, snowflake designs, brushstrokes, marble, and contemporary prints. The intrinsic rarity of this narrative is added by metallic coatings and minimalist hardware. Fashion being at ease and depicting a sense of calm is somewhat depicted in this story.

Remoteness:

The solitude of the country in which small creatures live and comfort are at the heart of this story. The quiet of a rural retreat is indicative of the earthy vegetable tones, brushed fabrics and tapestries inspired by nature and needlepoint jacquards. Cardigans and sweaters from Fair Isle, blanket shapes carry the charge, because functionality requires numerous layers, and conspicuous elements include doodles and caps. Plaid by handkerchiefs, small gingham checking, tweeds by Donegal, moleskin, and performative supplements like ripstop, as well as the yarn-fared fabric, speak also to the humble and earthen. In maxi dresses and tiered skirts, homely and nostalgic florals and wallpaper prints are available. The story is completed with Ombre sweaters and patchwork suede.

Dissonance:

Fashion is context-dependent. Only a few trends have endured. As used in popular culture. Now that’s a new kind of cool. Colorful bomber jackets, jumpsuits, and work shirts are styled in a whimsical manner. You can mix metallics and plaids in this new cyberworld. Or go monochromatic with contrasting fabrications, layering structural tailoring over trendy sportswear like bright overcoats over the iconic sweatpants. Others to consider for this edgy look are nylon, sateen, velvety knits, and stretch lurex.

Virtualize:

Technology has now surpassed the boundaries of our imagination, and the future of science fiction visions is now a reality. Fabrics have become virtually weightless in this new space age. Fashionable fabrics like quilted and padded nylon in Gen Z colors, beautiful, brushed knits, effortlessly fluffy bubblegum furs, terrycloth and mink, ultra-fine knits, and sheer organza are used in even the most casual of athletic silhouettes. Influences from video games and comic books led to a fascination with the artificial and the industrial. As with non-woven and latex, high-tech performance fabrics such as 4-way stretch jerseys and tech body armor with seamless finishing continue to catch the eye of designers and manufacturers alike. Metallic embellishments, iridescent brilliance, crystalized or hexagonal prints, and foil prints all serve as adornment.

Fashion trends have been changing since the beginning of time. The vision that Fall 2022 Donegar at Texworld hold is more leaned towards a calm and effortless approach in marking the fashion statements. The vision of this event is to impact the fashion world and bring out the rawness of it through the clothes and knits they will be presenting on the runway.
