The increasing population has been a concern for many years now. The settlement, availability of resources, and food allocation are becoming more challenging. The world leaders could not conclude how to end this dispute and ensure equal shares for everyone. The most developed countries are lagging in providing every possible right to their citizens. Today we answer a rhetorical myth here in this article. Have you ever wondered how fashion can be linked to the increasing population? The growing population hints at the newborns and the kids. As far as the numbers are concerned, 385000 babies are born in a day worldwide.

Further research showed that 60% of babies are born during the daytime and the rest at night. Bangladesh has an excellent newborn face on average. They have 8600 babies born in a day. That’s a lot if we are to calculate the annual population of new babies. There has always been a compromise of other essentials, but kids have experienced fashion within themselves. Today we will be covering kid’s fashion.

We have classified slow fashion and fast fashion. We have looked into how adults dress themselves, but kids’ fashion has always been underrated. They wear colorful attires and have matching footwear of various brands. Parents leave no scope in making their kids fashionable. For boys, it has always been T-shirts and shirts with quarter jeans. Girls always prefer frocks and comfortable T-shirts. Unisex clothing is the best reference for kid clothing. There is a specific range of age where we classify those newborns. The chart is set up below:

  1. Infant clothing: 3, 6, 12, 18, 24 months.
  2. Toddlers Clothing: Babies ageing from 2 to 7 years.
  3. Children Clothing: These kids range from 8 to 12 years.

Let us now look into the infant wardrobe more closely in the following:

  • Onesies: At least 3 to 4 in quantity.
  • Stretch suits: 3 to 4 in quantity.
  • Socks: 3 to 4 pairs.
  • Gowns that cover feet: 3 to 4 in quantity.
  • Hats/caps/bonnets: 3 to 4 in quantity.
  • Undershirts: 4-6 short or long sleeves in quantity.
  • Light mittens: Only a pair.
  • Sweaters: 1 or 2 in quantity.
  • Bunting: 1 in quantity. (Only usable in very cold conditions or where the temperature is very low).

There are a few precautions that parents need to take for their infants. They are discussed in the following:

  1. Safety of the child: They should restrict their spending on clothes with small buttons, beautiful rhinestones, or bows because the infants might choke them. Long ties in an infant’s attire are very dangerous and are strongly discouraged. The designs should be carefully examined and only be purchased after that.
  2. Purchase fire-protected sleep wears: Labels are present, and they have instructions whether the fabrics used to prepare that particular attire are flammable or not. Second-hand items are thus discouraged since they don’t come with proper labels and washing.
  3. Emphasize weight more than age: Many people search for clothes for their children or juniors by considering their age. This is not a wise option because the manufacturers make the clothes based on a universal age height chart. They cannot premeditate a child’s weight and then prepare a dress according to it. Weight is a fundamental assumption with a verified digit, so it’s easier to buy clothes.
  4. Comfortable openings in the clothes: As infants don’t understand how they are undressed; it is considered to be a real struggle for parents. There are different types of openings, for example, wide necks or snaps, snaps and zippers, loose sleeves, and easier openings near the crotch.
  5. Washable Labels: Machine washables are very convenient for mothers to buy as they will save a lot of energy and time.
  6. Be smart while purchasing: Always be alert on the size and have alternate options for your child. A newborn may fit well in a 3-month-old child’s dress.

Let us look at the toddlers’ wardrobe in the following:

  1. Toddlers need 5 to 10 shirts.
  2. They require 3 to 8 pairs of pants.
  3. 5 pairs of socks. The quantity is large for backup purposes.
  4. 2 to 3 pairs of shoes.
  5. 1 fancy party dress.

As talked through the precaution required earlier, there are no new alternatives to it. Parents should always be careful, and no dress should get wasted before proper utilization.

Children’s clothing differs a lot as this is the age where clothes will become different for boys and girls. Let us glance through their designated wardrobes below:

Boys Wardrobe

  • 5 T-shirts and 2 Polos.
  • 2 dress shirts.
  • 6 short pants, 2 pairs of pants, 2 pairs of jeans, and 5 pajamas.
  • 5 pairs of socks.
  • 1 jacket and 1 swimsuit.
  • 2 sandals, 1 tennis shoe, and 1 dress shoe.
  • Belt, underwear, and other accessories.

Girls Wardrobe

  • 3 T-shirts and 2 Tank Tops.
  • 2 dress shirts.
  • 3 pairs of shorts, 2 pairs of pants, 2 pairs of jeans, and 5 pairs of pajamas.
  • 2 skirts, 3 dresses, 1 cardigan, 1 jacket, and 2 swimsuits.
  • 5 pairs of socks. Again, the quantity is large for backup purposes.
  • 2 sandals, 1 tennis shoe, and 1 dress shoe.
  • Tights, belts, underwear, and accessories.

This is the handwritten representation of both of the gender’s amalgamated wardrobe. The people here in Bangladesh are very much aware of all the trends, and their collections for their kids are also very similar to those pointed out above.

Boy kids in Bangladesh are dressed in a unique way. Their wardrobe consists of a variety of clothing. They are primarily dressed in T-shirts and sometimes with shirts and very rarely with jackets. Since boys play, many kids at that age are always very energetic, and they prefer more athletic suits. Many wear jerseys of their favorite football or cricket team and prefer sneakers more than their flip flops and party footwear. Parents in Bangladesh prefer jeans and trousers more than anything else for covering legs. Shorts are also in demand for such kids, but kids are dressed more formally. They prefer sneakers from Nike, Adidas, and many more exciting sports brands. Boys also wear additional accessories such as colorful plastic watches and wristbands of different brands. Some kids also wear bracelets and sunglasses to enhance their entire appearance. During winter time boys wear stylish sweaters or simple polo’s.

Girl kids have a very different way of dressing themselves. Most of them prefer dresses of various colors, for example, pink, red, yellow, and other vibrant textures. They wear slim T-shirts as the condition here is very rough for their skin to tolerate. They sometimes wear shirts as well. Jackets are very rarely used by them. They also wear fancy tops and jeans and leggings. As far as the extra accessories are concerned, small girls are not appreciated with heavy jewelry. Earrings, chokers, and bindis are some attractive accessories worn by girls of this age. They also wear headbands and colorful hair clips to settle their hairstyle. They prefer sandals a lot, and as they are more homesick, sneakers are not so well appreciated by them. During winter, they wear sweaters of beautiful designs, often fluffy and warm. Girl kids always love colorful things and admire any of the shades applied within their dresses.

Local brands, for example, Aarong and KayKraft, are producing the best quality kids’ wear in Bangladesh. People also purchase clothes from other street shops or retailers depending on their income and fashion taste. There are a lot of shops for footwear as Aarong itself is doing well with its collection. Bata and Orion are the shops that are rated among the most suitable places to visit for the footwear of kids in Bangladesh. Clips, hair bands, wristbands, and watches are available everywhere and are also in high demand. E-commerce websites have also been a blessing in disguise for people during this pandemic—online sites of Mothercare, Infinity, Baajaro. Int, Kids Shopping, Kids and mom, and many more are constantly serving the best possible products to their customers.

Trends have always revolved around comfortable, simple, and environmentally friendly clothes for children. There are a few new concepts that are assumed to be the next big trend for kids, and they are pointed out below:

  1. Colour block coats.
  2. Cruella Dots.
  3. Vintage Rock Tees.
  4. Mom jeans.
  5. Tie-dye.

Trends will come and go. Change in fashion is bound to occur, and people should adapt themselves as soon as possible. We always react spontaneously when it comes to making ourselves presentable. Likewise, kids also have the same desire to dress themselves properly. Our country is a mixture of elite people and not-so-rich citizens. Irrespective of the economic condition, fashion is always glamorous and beautiful indiscriminately for everyone.
