Bangladesh’s national football jersey has been included in the FIFA Museum in Zurich for the first time, marking a historic recognition of the country’s place in global football history. The design draws from national heritage through Sundarbans and Jamdani-inspired motifs, with subtle cultural symbols woven into the kit.

The Bangladesh national football jersey has been officially added to the FIFA Museum in Zurich, placing the country’s colours alongside some of the most iconic shirts in global football history.

The announcement was confirmed through official channels by Dour, the manufacturing company behind the national team kit. The inclusion marks a significant milestone for Bangladeshi football, with the jersey now permanently displayed among legendary international football memorabilia at the Swiss museum.

The museum’s archive features kits from footballing nations across different eras, and Bangladesh’s entry represents its first appearance within this global collection. According to Dour, all administrative processes for handover and cataloguing were completed before the exhibition was made public in Zurich.

Behind the design is Tasmit Afiyat Arny, creative director of the Bangladesh Football Federation and founder of Stride Fashion Wear. She led the concept with inspiration drawn from the Sundarbans and traditional Jamdani patterns.

The white away jersey brings in red and green from the national flag, layered with cultural detailing throughout. A Jamdani-inspired tiger motif carries hidden references to the magpie-robin and the Hilsa fish, weaving Bangladesh’s natural and cultural heritage into the design. Months of research and coordination between Qatar and Bangladesh went into the project to meet international production standards.

The project was developed through months of research and coordination between Qatar and Bangladesh to ensure international production standards were met. Despite its scale and recognition, Arny chose not to charge the federation, describing it as a contribution made purely for the country.

The inclusion of the jersey in Zurich stands as a defining moment, placing Bangladesh’s football identity within the global archive of the game.
