Kim Kardashian, a serial entrepreneur and reality celebrity, is branching out into the world of high-end cosmetics. SKKN by Kim is a new skincare line based on a nine-step process described as “sitting at the confluence of enhanced simplicity and breakthrough science” by the firm. The range will be available on the brand’s e-commerce website starting June 21st, following announcements on social media. SKKN had 106,000 Instagram followers at the time of writing. Kardashian is no stranger to the cosmetics industry, having previously created KKW Beauty and KKW Fragrance, which are both currently dormant. Kardashian’s licensed and mid-market lines no longer feel matched with her prestige objectives as she continues to move into a more high-end product area.

The collection’s prices are comparable to Goop’s cheap ranges, but higher than normal. It’ll be interesting to see how many of Kardashian’s 300 million+ Instagram followers believe in her. According to the New York Times, a hyaluronic acid serum and a night oil cost $90 and $95, respectively, which is out of reach for many of Kardashian’s fans. The company also claims that its packaging is recyclable, and that all of its items can be refilled.
